A brand new Saturday league

for season 2019-20

GENERAL

• Open to teams from Under 7s to Under 15s

• Must be within a 15 mile radius from Derby City Centre as the crow flies

• Established clubs must be Charter Standard to enter (Brand new clubs must become Charter Standard within one year of joining the league)

• Home and away fixtures for all age groups

• Twice yearly Presentation Days for U9s to U15s

• YEL Festivals and tournaments for U7s and U8s

• Ground breaking YEL Respect Team providing a zero tolerance policy towards poor behaviour surrounding respect issues ensuring a positive experience for all managers, players, referees and spectators

• YEL Discipline team who apply the rules to ensure that standards are maintained for the benefit of all participants

• YEL Referees Team - who endeavour to provide FA qualified referees on all U9 to U15 games

• YEL Office Team - The YEL is one of the very few leagues in the country that is professionally run by paid part-time and full-time staff from the YEL Office at Notts County FC

FORMATS

U7s/U8s

• Fixtures set on a four to six weekly cycle

• Close monitoring of results to ensure teams are being appropriately challenged by moving them up and down development groups. No team should suffer more than three consecutive defeats or have three easy wins

• Matches arranged every weekend - excluding school holidays

U9s to U11s

• Friendlies arranged by the league every weekend excluding school holidays using graded divisions

• Two competitive mini leagues - one pre Christmas and another one after Christmas

• 16 team graded knockout cup competitions against opposition of similar standard to allow every team the chance of winning 'the cup!'

U12s to U15s

• Split seasons - Winter and Spring leagues with promotion and relegation

• Opportunity to shuffle teams down/up more than one division to ensure teams are being appropriately challenged

• Opportunity for exceptional teams to play up a year group

• Potential of a 'League of Champions' for the second season pitching the top teams from YEL (Nottingham), YEL (Leicester) and YEL (Derby) against each other in a champions division
