How do I join the YEL referees list?

 

Here at the YEL we are constantly looking for new, enthusiastic referees who enjoy the unique challenges that youth football has to offer from the obvious one of refereeing down to the less obvious ones of educating, coaching...right down to the occasional tying of an eight year old's shoelaces.

 

Age is no barrier within the YEL. We have young referees from the age of 14 just setting out on their career as well as referees well into their 60s and 70s in the twilight of their careers who bring a vast amount knowledge and experience. The cross section of ages gives young players a wide, unique blend of different styles to learn from and experience.

 

The YEL offers a superb refereeing experience. We have over 1,000 teams featuring close to 12,000 players from U7 through to U14. Each month we make around 1,500 refereeing appointments. As you can see there is plenty of opportunity for you.

 

If you are a qualified referee and want to join the YEL referees list, simply send in an email to yel@live.co.uk or use the contact list in the grey menu bar at the top of the page and let us know you are interested. You will need to be registered with your local County Football Association for the current season. We will then send you an email with a registration form. Once these are returned to us and you have been registered, we will start appointing you. It really is that simple.
